Choosing counter-eavesdropping inspection equipment

Compare frequency coverage, inspection functions, portability and reporting for the actual site.

Define the inspection requirement

State the authorised premises, the need for mobile checks or desktop monitoring, and the required outputs. Separate RF signal discovery, spectrum display, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth checks, nonlinear-junction detection and thermal imaging. Use a function-by-function list to identify the appropriate configuration for the inspection team.

Compare the included configuration

Request the base frequency range, compatible antennas and probes, protocol modes and software functions. Some manufacturer configurations extend coverage through optional accessories. Keep the base unit and options separate in the quotation and request a model-specific demonstration rather than relying on claims of universal detection.

Check portability and records

Compare size, screen, battery operating time, charging, storage and export formats. For desktop monitoring, confirm the power arrangement and data-retention needs. Detection results depend on the environment and signal state; agree relevant demonstration conditions and a useful report format before purchase.

Set acceptance and data access

Specify training, instructions, update support, spare parts and warranty. Agree staff access to inspection records, export formats and retention periods. Include the delivered software version, accessory list and demonstration results in the acceptance record.
